The classical linguistic theory textbook Outline of Linguistics(Revised Edition)by Ye Feisheng and Xu Tongqiang has the following shortcomings such as inaccurate information,misjudgment of language units’nature,inappropriate translation,language and punctuation errors,contradictory knowledge,etc.These mistakes in details will inevitably affect the scientificity and authority of the textbook,and reduce its practicality and interest.It is hoped that full attention will be paid to the revision of the textbook,and it is suggested that the textbook should be studied in a multi-dimensional way.
