摘要
米可(Alexis Michaud)教授的《永宁纳语的声调:词汇调与形态调系规则》(Tone in Yongning Na:Lexical tones and morphotonology)是藏缅语语言学领域非常具有启发性的一本专著。全书在非线性音系学理论框架下,分析了永宁纳语(摩梭话)各个词类、各种语法结构的底层调类、表层声调、声调规则和形态调系规则、声调的语音实现,讨论了声调的变异和历史演变问题。该书揭示了必须通过考察声调在语音语法环境中的变化规律才能确定底层调,声调不一定是一个完全独立于语法的系统。该书的类型学视角也是值得借鉴的。
Tone in Yongning Na:Lexical Tones and Morphotonology by Alexis Michaud is an instructive book on Tibeto-Burman linguistics.Within the framework of non-linear phonology,this book analyses the underlying tones,surface tones,tone sandhi rules and morphotonology rules,and the phonetic realization of tones of each word class in Yongning Na.It reveals that the underlying tones must be defined through examining the alternations of tones in various phonological and morphological environments,which suggests that the tone system is not fully independent from morphology.The perspective of typology is also notable.
