A lecture named 'the human body life relies on the cells' was given by Prof. Xu Rongxiang in the 2nd World Integrative Medicine Congress Burn Satellite Meeting. This report mainly focused on three sections: the theory of skin regeneration on burns, the international progression of treatment for burns and the development plan of skin regenerative medicine. In the first section, Prof. Xu, on the basis of clinical practice in burns, explained the basic theory and the application value of potential regenerative cells in detail, as well as the content of skin regenerative medicine on burns. Research tendency of the current international burn treatment discussed in the second section revealed that keeping moist physiological environment was the basis of medication for treating burn wounds. In the last section, Prof. Xu emphasized some details about the development of skin regenerative medicine, the professional committees, the center of science and technology, national medical network and the specific responsibilities of all the staffs.
