“大白”英译的策略研究

On the Chinese-English Translation Strategy of Dabai

本文以国内主流英文报刊围绕新兴专有名词“大白”展开的报道为语料,对“大白”的英译策略进行梳理、归纳和总结,且指出目前英译中存在的不规范现象,并在此基础上提出一些可行性的建议,以期提升“大白”一词的翻译规范,更好地传播中国声音。

As a newly emerging proper noun,the English translation of Dabai hasn't received enough scholarly attention.Relying on news reports concerning Dabai released by mainstream English newspapers and periodicals in China,this paper sorts out and summarizes the Chinese-English translation strategies of Dabai and points out some non-standard translations,based on which some feasible suggestions are proposed,in an attempt to im-prove its translation norms,narrate compelling China stories and make China voice better heard.
