On the issue of the formation of international regime,Oran Young broke the dichotomy of traditional realism and utilitarianism,and regarded international regime as the product of institutional negotiations.Oran Young realized the transformation of international regime research from static analysis to dynamic observation through the analysis of the evolution of international regime.In addition,his research on the effectiveness of international regime has further expanded the agenda of international regime theory research.Under the influence of compound thinking,Oran Young emphasizes the interaction between international regime theory and practice,and advocates the creation of a set of regulatory complexes across paradigms,theories and methods,in order to effectively cope with the challenges of today’s global governance issues.At the level of development and innovation of international regime theory,Oran Young has always been in a leading position.His contributions are not limited to academia,but also play an important role in the practice of Arctic governance and environmental governance.
