庞德时代的翻译标准与价值取向探究

Translation Criterion and Value Orientation in the Pound Era

庞德中国古诗及儒家经典翻译研究成果丰硕,但庞德时代的翻译标准与价值取向却鲜有人研究。本文在界定庞德时代概念的基础上,以理雅各与韦利等译家的译作为依据,探究庞德时代的翻译标准与价值取向。研究发现,以忠实为核心的学术性翻译是庞德时代的翻译标准、以厚重翻译为特征的文化阐释是那一时代的翻译价值取向。

Despite the fruitful researches into Ezra Pound's translation of ancient Chinese poems and Confucian classics,little attention has been paid to the translation criterion and value orientation in his time.Defining the concept of"Pound Era",this paper summarizes the criterion and value orientation during that time in accordance with the translations of James Legge and Arthur Waley.It is found that translation in the Pound Era is scholarly translation guided by the faithful principle and it serves for cultural interpretation by the means of thick translation.
