张元素为易学学派开创者,提出“运气不齐,古今异轨,古方今病不能相能也”的观点,重视理法研究,从三感、四因、五郁等方面解释发病病因,具体分析六气主治,将祛邪方式归纳为“汗、吐、下”三法。并依据药物四气五味,细化升降浮沉,将其分为“风升生,热浮长,湿化成,燥降收,寒沉藏”五类,指导脏腑虚实寒热辨证用药,其代表作《医学启源》对现世有着十分重要的指导意义。
