Gastric cancer is one of the five major tumors in the world today.Surgery is the first choice for the treatment of gastric cancer.With the development of medicine,the indications for gastric cancer surgery are constantly expanding,and the number of operable gastric cancer in the elderly is increasing.In the complex population of elderly patients,perioperative frailty has become an important influencing factor of surgical complications and death.The scale of judging frailty is also constantly updated and iterated with the research going forward.This paper discusses the influence of perioperative frailty on gastric cancer surgery,the methods used to judge frailty in the clinic,its advantages and disadvantages,and the importance of perioperative frailty evaluation and intervention measures.
