周密《齐东野语》“范公石湖”条辨谬

On the Mistakes in the“Fan Gong Shi Hu”Section of Zhou Mi’s Qi Dong Ye Yu

周密《齐东野语》专列“范公石湖”条,对范成大所筑石湖别墅有较详细记载,但查阅有关文献并实地调研,其中“文穆范公成大,晚岁卜筑于吴江盘门外十里”中的“晚岁卜筑”“盖因阖闾所筑越来溪故城之基,随地势高下而为亭榭”“又有北山堂、千岩观”等三处记载与实际不符。周密虽与范成大同为南宋人,但毕竟相去百余年,他当并未对石湖别墅作过认真的实地调研或考证研究,致有此谬。

The“Fan Gong Shihu”section in Zhou Mi’s Qi Dong Ye Yu provides a detailed record of Fan Chengda’s Shihu Residence.However,by consulting relevant literature and conducting field research,the authors find three records are inconsistent with reality,which include“built a residence in his later years”in“Fan Chengda,posthumous titled Wen Mu,built in his later years a residence ten miles outside the Panmen Gate of Wujiang”,“Based on the ancient city foundation of Yuelaixi built by He Lv,pavilions were made on the terraced land”,and“there were also Beishan Hall and Qianyan Temple”.Although Zhou Mi and Fan Chengda were both from the Southern Song Dynasty,they lived over a century apart.Zhou failed to conduct serious on-site research or textual study on Shihu Residence,which led to the above-mentioned mistakes.
