区域国别学学科建设的多维探索:以上海外国语大学为例

Chinese Construction of the Discipline of Area Studies in the New Era:A Case Study of Shanghai International Studies University

新时代中国区域国别学的兴起有其必然性,主要源自中国积极参与全球治理的人才培养需求。在厘清区域国别学相关概念的同时,本文指出,区域国别学作为“大国之学”,其学科建设前景广阔。全国范围内,上海外国语大学在区域国别学学科建设方面起步较早,形成了初步具有中国特色、上海特征、上外特点的区域国别学科体系,产生了国内外影响,可以作为案例进行剖析。本文把上外的区域国别学学科建设划分为学科初建、蓬勃发展和深度融合三个阶段,从以政治学为试点开始,到目前以政治学、外国语言文学以及相关交叉学科来共同推进学科建设。同时,本文还探讨了上外区域国别学的教学特色,回顾其探索历史,以及相关课程建设和思政建设情况。区域国别学学科建设过程中,上外重视区域国别学学科建设的战略和战术。一方面,学科建设布局贯彻学校整体战略,即将学校的转型与区域国别学学科建设紧密结合,发挥政治学等学科的改革试验田作用,并立足于学校实际,进行改革创新;另一方面,学科点建设与学院工作把握精准战术,兼顾人文主义与科学主义、灵活选用实地调研与逻辑分析、在学理研究和政策分析之间寻求平衡。

The rise of China's Area Studies is inevitable in the new era.The main impetus behind it comes from the need to train talents for China's active participation in global governance.While clarifying conceptions related to Area Studies,this paper points out that Area Studies is the knowledge of major powers,and building the discipline enjoys broad prospects.Shanghai International Studies University(SISU)has made an early start in building the discipline of Area Studies and has gradually formed an Area Studies system with preliminary Chinese characteristics,Shanghai features,and SISU's properties.Based on its positive influence at home and abroad,SISU's initiative can be analyzed as a case.This paper divides the construction of this discipline at SISU into three stages,initial establishment,vigorous development,and in-depth integration.This process started with Political Science as a pilot and has now achieved a joint promotion realized by three disciplines,namely Political Science,Foreign Languages and Literature,as well as Interdisciplinary Science.This paper also reveals SISU's teaching features related to Area Studies,with retrospection about its development,its course construction's process,as well as its related curriculum ideology and politics.During the processes,SISU focuses on strategy and tactics of disciplinary construction.On the one hand,the layout of the discipline construction is in line with the overall development of the University.In other words,the transformation of the University is closely integrated with the construction of the discipline of Area Studies,and the role of Political Science and other disciplines as a testing ground is brought into play.On the other hand,SISU grasps precise tactics on its disciplinary construction and faculty-level work,namely the balance between humanism and scientism,the flexible selection of field research and logical analysis,as well as the equilibrium between academic research and policy analysis.
