苏轼与扬州谷林堂史迹考

Study on Su Shi and the History of the Gulin Hall of Yangzhou

扬州大明寺内谷林堂始建于北宋元祐七年(1089),其时苏轼任扬州知州。民国时期,扬州文人王振世认为苏轼为谷林堂的建造者。通过对谷林堂历史沿革的考证、平山堂与谷林堂历史地位的比较、苏轼未因“修造”而贬官以及南宋地理著作、明清两代扬州地方志书的记载等多个方面的条分缕析,认为苏轼为谷林堂的建造者的说法缺少明确的史料论证,并不可信。

The Gulin Hall in the Daming Temple of Yangzhou was built in the seventh year of the Yuanyou Period of the Northern Song Dynasty(1089 A.D.),when Su Shi was appointed prefecture governor of Yangzhou.During the Republic of China era,the Yangzhou literati Wang Zhenshi considered Su Shi to be the builder of the Gulin Hall.By examining the history of Gulin Hall,comparing the historical status of the Pingshan Hall with that of the Gulin Hall,and through careful analysis of the fact that Su Shi’s demotion wasn’t due to“construction”,as well as the geographical works of the Southern Song Dynasty,and the records of Yangzhou local chronicles of the Ming and the Qing Dynasties,it is believed that the proposal that Su Shi was the builder of the Gulin Hall lacks clear historical evidence and is not credible.
