自20世纪90年代以来,基于语料库的翻译研究迅速发展,推进了翻译研究的深度和广度。胡开宝的专著《基于语料库的莎士比亚戏剧汉译研究》以自建莎剧英汉平行语料库、汉语原创戏剧语料库为基础,打破了现阶段中国莎剧汉译研究限于单个译本或几个译本之间,仅针对某一语言现象所进行的语言层面的定性研究。该著作从实证出发,对国际热点翻译共性问题、长期未得到足够关注的莎剧汉译本中的人际意义再现及建构研究、基于语料库的莎剧汉译语言特征及动因研究,以及莎剧汉译翻译技巧和策略研究进行了系统、客观的描述、验证、发现和探究。该书的多维度、全方位分析,不仅使得读者对翻译过程、翻译产品以及翻译功能等有一个深入且批判性的思考,而且深化了翻译理论研究、语料库翻译学研究和莎士比亚汉译研究。

Since the 1990s,the rapid development of corpus-based translation studies advances the depth and breadth of translation studies.Based on his DIY English-Chinese Parallel Corpus of Shakespeare's Plays and the corpus of Chinese original plays,Hu Kaibao's monograph A Corpus-Based Study of the Chinese Translations of Shbakespeare's Plays does not confine the research scope to the linguistic level.On the contrary,it starts from empirical study,and focuses on translation universals,the representation and construction of interpersonal meanings,translators'styles and motivations.The monograph has a systemic,objective and multi-dimensional study of translation processes,translation products,translators and readers.Hu's research deepens the study of translation theories,corpus-based translation study,and the study of Chinese translations of Shakespearean plays.
