敬敷书院是清代安徽官办学院。《敬敷书院山长余选》系敬敷书院教材,全书收录有12篇文章,成书时间约在1898—1901年,文章体载大致可分为策论类和问答体。透视全书,有助于今人了解晚清高等教育在思想倾向、价值取向、教育导向等方面的一些状况。该书具有较高的史料、学术研究价值。

Jingfu Academy was a government-run college in Anhui during the Qing Dynasty.The Works Selected by Director of Jingfu Academy was used as teaching materials in the Academy,with about 12 articles included,finished between 1898 and 1901.The articles included are roughly divided into two forms of literature:discourse on politics and question-and-answer style.To grasp the essence of the whole book is conducive for us to comprehending the condition of higher education in the late Qing Dynasty in terms of mind-set,values,education orientation and so on.This book is with high value from historical and academic perspectives.
