The marriage of Liang Qichao to Li Huixian was a political behavior based on traditional Chinese marriage and family ethics and institution.The underlying reason for Li Duanfen to facilitate the marriage was that he and Liang shared the same political ideas and the aspiration of“strengthening the country and enriching the people”.The marriage between Liang Qichao and Li Huixian was based on the complementarity and integration of cultural differences between the North and South of China.The resulting effect not only strengthened the conjugal relationship,but also enabled Li Huixian to develop into a woman who assisted her husband’s reform efforts and made positive contributions to the reform movement.
