反腐败对环境质量的影响研究——基于176个国家的实证检验

The Impact of Anti-corruption on Environmental Quality——Empirical Test Based on 176 Countries

既有研究多关注腐败与环境污染之间的关系,但鲜有研究关注反腐败对环境综合效益的影响。以2002-2014年176国的面板数据,从更一般的层面检验了反腐败与环境质量之间的关系,以及反腐败和经济增长对环境质量的联合作用,并通过多套反腐败数据和国家类型区分对结果进行交叉验证。结果表明:第一,反腐败有助于提升国家的环境质量,在经济较发达的OECD国家,反腐败对环境质量的影响尤为显著且稳健;第二,反腐败成效随着经济增长对环境效益的改善呈现边际递减效应;第三,经济增长对环境质量的影响具有不确定性,在不同国家、不同时期表现出不同的影响作用。

Existing studies pay more attention to the relationship between corruption and environmental pollution,but few studies focus on the impact of anti-corruption on environmental comprehensive benefits.Based on the panel data of 176 countries from 2002 to 2014,this article,in a general context,tests the relationship between anti-corruption and environmental quality,and the joint effect of anti-corruption and economic growth on environmental quality.By differentiating the multiple sets of anti-corruption data and national types,it cross-validate the results.The results show that:first,anti-corruption helps to improve the country′s environmental quality,and in OECD countries with more developed economies,the impact of anti-corruption on environmental quality is particularly significant and stable;Secondly,the effectiveness of anti-corruption shows a marginal diminishing effect on the improvement of environmental benefits with the economic growth;Thirdly,the impact of economic growth on environmental quality is uncertain,and it shows different effects in different countries and in different periods.
