美国本土裔作家路易丝·厄德里克关注美国印第安人的生存困境,在“正义三部曲”中融入了大量的历史事件,将印第安人的民族记忆、民族性格、民族身份写入景观中。作品中的景观是印第安民族历史的见证,是印第安民族性格的表征,强化了印第安人的族裔身份。作品体现了作者的批判精神和对民族历史、民族身份的思考,表达了作者对美国种族主义和殖民主义的谴责,对印第安人在逆境中生存与抗争的高扬。小说中的景观承载着印第安人对平等正义的渴望和政治诉求,凸显了厄德里克的历史意识和文化诉求。
Louise Erdrich,a native American writer,is concerned about the living plight of American Indians.She has incorporated a lot of historical events into the“Justice trilogy”,where the national memory,national character and national identity of Indians have been written into the landscape.The landscape presented in the works of the“Justice trilogy”has witnessed the history of the Indian nationality,represented the Indian nationality character,and strengthened the Indian identity as an ethnic group.These works have demonstrated Erdrich’s critical spirit and thinking about national history and national identity,her condemnation of American racism and colonialism,and her high commendation for the Indians’survival and struggle against adversity.The landscape in the novels bears the Indians’craving for equality and justice and political demands,highlighting Erdrich’s historical consciousness and cultural demands.
