Objective To evaluate the operation effect of Vector Monitoring Information System in Huzhou City, and discuss the problems, and propose suggestions. Methods Describing the function and present situation of information system and traditional surveillance system in Huzhou City, and investigating the application effect of this information system through questionnaire and interview. Results The information system could achieve data collection, reporting, auditing, data export and autoanalysis, and so on.Different persons had different overall evaluation on the application of information system(χ^(2)=16.899,P=0.010).Auditors and analysts both thought that the application of information system had a good effect. The overall distribution of evaluation effect of information monitoring system was different in five species of rodents, mosquitoes, flies, cockroaches and ticks(χ^(2)=34.833,P<0.001).28%staff thought that the application effect of information system in mosquito monitoring was poor.However,12%~32% of the application persons thought that the effect of information system was equivalent to the traditional monitoring application. Conclusion Vector Monitoring Information system in Huzhou City can improve the timeliness and accuracy on monitoring data, but it increases the burden of grass-roots workers. The system needs to be further improved.
