The procedural requirements for metal shielding layer of medium-voltage cables and the mechanical performance tests on copper belt are described.Combined with the analysis of two cases concerning cable failures caused by copper belt fracture,the effects of mechanical performance of copper belt and its construction process on the safe operation of the cables are expounded,and suggestions for improving the prevention of cable copper belt fractures are put forward.
