互联网使用对农村劳动力职业流动的影响

The Effect of Internet Use on Occupational Mobility of Rural Labor Force

利用2014年、2016年、2018年中国家庭追踪调查(CFPS)数据,从理论和经验两方面分析了互联网使用对农村劳动力职业流动的影响及作用机制。研究发现:互联网使用有助于促进农村劳动力职业向上流动,在采用工具变量、替换变量、改变模型设定等一系列方法进行稳健性检验后,结论依然成立;互联网使用对农村劳动力职业流动的影响存在异质性,女性、受教育程度较高的农村劳动力互联网使用促进职业向上流动的作用更为显著;进一步分析发现,互联网使用能够通过降低信息搜寻成本、提高个人职业技能、改善劳动力就业偏好来影响农村劳动力职业流动。为充分发挥互联网使用对农村劳动力职业流动的促进作用,政府部门应加强互联网技能培训,完善农村非农就业扶持政策,优化农村地区创业环境,推动农村劳动力职业向上流动,加快实现乡村振兴战略目标。

Using the data of China Household tracking survey(CFPS)in 2014,2016 and 2018,the paper studies the impact of Internet use on rural labor occupational mobility and its mechanism from both theoretical and empirical aspects.The study found that Internet use has a significant positive impact on the upward mobility of rural labor.After a series of robustness tests,such as the use of instrumental variables,replacement variables,and changing the model setting,the research conclusion is still robust.Internet use has different effects on rural labor with different endowment characteristics,and the use of Internet by female and highly educated rural labor has a more significant impact on their upward career mobility.Further analysis shows that the Internet affects the occupational mobility of rural labor by reducing information search costs,improving vocational skills,and improving labor employment preferences.Therefore,government departments should carry out large-scale Internet skills training,strengthen rural non-agricultural employment support policies,optimize the entrepreneurial environment in rural areas,promote the upward vocational mobility of rural labor force,and accelerate the realization of the strategic goal of rural revitalization.
