Scientifically Verified the Reliability of Baumann Skin Type Questionnaire in Judging Skin Status Based on a Large Sample Size

目的:验证北京、武汉、无锡、太原4个城市1634名消费者基于褒曼皮肤分型问卷(The Baumann skin type questionnaire,BSTQ)所判定的皮肤类型[油性(Oily)-干性(Dry)、敏感性(Sensitive)-耐受性(Resistant)]与无创皮肤生理参数测试结果所判定皮肤类型的一致性。方法:使用SPSS 26.0对BSTQ判定结果和皮肤无创客观测试结果进行显著性分析和相关性分析以及Kappa检验,统计问卷灵敏度、特异度结果。结果:4个城市的油性-干性问卷判定结果与皮肤油脂参数测试结果之间均存在显著性差异和相关性;2个城市敏感-耐受BSTQ判定结果与经表皮水分丢失(Trans epidermal water loss,TEWL)之间有显著性差异,1个城市有相关性(其相关程度可忽略);3个城市敏感-耐受乳酸刺痛实验判定与TEWL之间存在显著性差异和相关性;3个城市敏感-耐受BSTQ判定与乳酸刺痛实验判定两者相关性分析kappa值小于0.2(P<0.05),1个城市kappa值无显著性差异;以乳酸刺痛试验(Lactic acid sting test,LAST)结果作为金标准,4个城市以BSTQ分析判定皮肤敏感的灵敏度为20.56%~26.77%,特异度为24.26%~30.51%。结论:BSTQ对干性和油性皮肤类型的判定结果较为可靠;以乳酸刺痛验证皮肤敏感为对照标准的情况下,BSTQ对敏感皮肤的判定结果可靠性较低。

Objective To verify the consistency of skin types determined by BSTQ(Oily-Dry and Sensitive-Resistant)and skin types determined by epidermal biophysical properties through non-invasive skin tests which were obtained by 1634 subjects in four cities,Beijing,Wuhan,Wuxi and Taiyuan.Methods SPSS 26.0 software was used to analyze the significance,correspondence and Kappa test between the skin types determined by the BSTQ and the epidermal biophysical properties parameters relevantly.Meanwhile,the sensitivity and specificity of BSTQ were calculated.Results There were statistical significance and correlational between the results of the oily-dry by BSTQ and the test results of skin parameter(sebum)in four cities.The significance and correlation between the sensitivity-resistance determined by BSTQ and TEWL in four cities were as follows:two cities showed significant difierences,and only one city was correlated with TEWL,in which the correlation could be ignored.There were three cities that had relevance and statistical significance between the result of lactic acid sting test(LAST)and TEWL.Therefore,the result of LAST was more reliable than BSTQ in the verification of sensitive skin.Kappa coefficients from three cities were all less than 0.2(P<0.05).The sensitivity and specificity from the recognition of sensitive skin were 20.56%-26.77%and 24.26%-30.51%,respectively.Conclusion BSTQ was more suitable to judge the skin type of dry-oily skin type,whereas,BSTQ was low reliability on judging sensitive skin when lactic acid sting test was used as the control criterion.Therefore,the result of LAST was more reliable than BSTQ in the verification of sensitive skin.
