History is the root of a region,culture is the soul of a land.Folk House is the entity of carrying traditional culture,which gestates the regional culture of“Yu Style and Chu Charm”in the history of space-time blending,and gradually forms the unique architectural art characteristics of folk house in southern Henan.This paper will explore the natural and cultural environment,spatial pattern and artistic features of the residential buildings in southern Henan,and study the main artistic features and cultural connotation of the residential buildings in southern Henan.It provides the train of thought and reference for the protection,inheritance,development and innovation of the regional culture of South Henan.
