According to the type of intracranial aneurysms,there are different surgical procedures,which can be divided into interventional surgery,open surgery and compound surgery.The classification axis is the operative method and anatomic site.ICD-9-CM-3,Chapter 9,Cardiovascular System Surgery 38,39,Chapter 1,operation and intervention 00 are used to describe the coding.Intracranial aneurysmal-related surgery refers to the complications after aneurysm rupture,and related operations are performed to deal with the complications.ICD-9-CM-3,Chapter II Neurological Surgery 01,02,03 categories are used for supplementary description in coding.On this basis,ICD-9-CM-3 coding rules are combined to give corresponding coding.To improve the coding quality of the medical record,coding staff are required to possess high professional quality,be familiar with the clinical knowledge of intracranial aneurysms and anatomy of the nervous system,increase their knowledge of intracranial aneurysms diseases and various surgical procedures,have a correct understanding of the principles and purposes of surgery,understand the operation record,and strengthen the communication with the clinician.
