Dilemmas and Effects of Socially Engaged Art

公共艺术在今天的发展更为强调公众的参与,由此发展出了交互艺术、参与性艺术等方向,而社会介入性艺术更倾向于抹平创作者与参与者之间的差异,使得公共艺术发展为一类属于共同主体的创作,现实的案例主要可简单归纳为艺术在城市、乡村及生态环境等方向的介入。艺术家与公众在艺术实践项目中的平等协作也会使得参与过程呈现出诸多争议与矛盾,而解决争议的过程其实就是艺术进行社会性介入的效应产生过程。

The development of public art today highlights the public participation,and thus develops the interactive art,participatory art and other genres.However,socially engaged art tends to smooth out the difference between creators and participants,making public art as a kind of creation that belongs to the common subject.The actual cases can be summarized as the art interventions in urban,rural and ecological contexts.The practice of equal collaboration between artists and the public in art projects can also lead to many controversies and contradictions in the participation process,while the process of resolving disputes is actually that of generating effect of art’s social intervention.
