Objective To study the effects of the method of benefiting the lung and removing toxins(BLET)on the survival rate and survival time of patients with primary lung cancer. Methods A total of 1,042 patients with primary lung cancer were divided into a BLET group(190 cases)and a control group(852 cases)according to their different treatment regimens, and their clinical data were retrospectively analyzed by the real-world research method. Results The survival rates of the BLET group for one, two, there and five years were 81.57%,43.68%,23.68%,and 11.05%,respectively,and its MST was 44.26 months, which were all significantly better than those in the control group.A univariate analysis showed that the survival time of patients was correlated with the treatment plan(P=0.000),gender(P=0.000),age(P=0.000),pathological type(P=0.000)and clinical stage(P=0.000).A multivariate analysis of COX regression model showed that the method of benefiting the lung and removing toxins might be an independent protective factor affecting their prognosis and survival. Conclusion While benefiting qi and nourishing yin,the BLET method can be combined with the four methods of clearing heat, resolving phlegm, dispelling toxins and softening hard masses to treat cancer, which helps to prolong the survival period of patients with primary lung cancer.
