余国藩乡土语言英译行为研究——以《西游记》翻译为例

A Study on the English Translation Behavior of Yu Guo-fan's Local Language——Taking the Translation of"Journey to the West"as an Example

在译者行为批评视域下,通过对余国藩乡土语言英译行为研究发现,余国藩的译者行为与源语文化间存在着互动关系。译者在翻译中的“求真”行为主要体现在乡土意象、乡土情理、神仙形象塑造等方面的忠实。译者的“务实”行为主要表现在对文本中源语文化的解读、中西文化的融通、文化内涵可读性的实现等方面。译者在翻译中“求真”行为的目的在于对源语文化的“务实”。而余国藩译者行为的动因源于他的学者型译者身份和对中国文化的认同。

From the perspective of translator behavior criticism,through the study of Yu Guofan's native language English translation behavior,it is found that there is an interactive relationship between Yu Guofan's translator behavior and the source language culture.The translator's"seeking truth"behavior in translation is mainly reflected in the loyalty of local imagery,local sentiment,and the shaping of immortal images.The translator's"pragmatic"behavior is mainly manifested in the interpretation of the source language culture in the text,the integration of Chinese and Western cultures,and the realization of cultural readability.The purpose of the translator's"seeking truth"behavior in translation is to be"pragmatic"towards the source language culture.The motivation for Yu Guofan's translator behavior stems from his scholarly translator identity and identification with Chinese culture.
