This paper researches modular design and construction technology in shipbuilding to facilitate continuous improvement in modular construction.The paper introduces the concept,categories and technical advantages of unit modular and proposes a technical strategy for the pre assembly and construction of engine room bottom units.It concludes that modular design should be standardized and it provides help and guidance for the promotion and practical application of unit modular technology.
