Climate and Space:Research on the Spatial Climate Responsive Characteristics of Balkrishna Doshi’s Architectural Creation

印度建筑大师巴克里希纳·多西的多项建筑作品中体现了其应对印度特殊炎热气候所秉持地域性建筑创作原则,采用一系列适宜的低技建筑空间气候适应性策略,研究引入气候空间概念,系统分析多西建筑创作中蕴含的气候空间适应性策略,涉及腔体、拱形屋顶空间、廊厅、地下空间和水体系统空间等典型气候空间类型,以期对我国相似地区现代建筑气候适应性设计有一定的积极启示意义。

A number of architectural works of Indian architect Bhakrishna Doshi reflect his regional and low-tech architec-tural creation principles in response to the special hot climate of India,and adopt a series of appropriate architectural space climate adaptation strategies.The study introduces the con-cept of climate space,and systematically analyzes the climate space adaptation strategies embedded in Doshi’s architectural creation and the climate adaptation strategies of architectural climate space layout organization,involving typical climatic space types such as cavities,arched roof spaces,corridors,underground spaces and water system spaces,with a view to providing some positive inspiration for the climatic adaptation design of modern buildings in similar areas of China.
