From Holism to Coordination of Group-Self:Modern Transformation of the Traditional Chinese View of Group-Self

群己关系问题是中国伦理思想史关注的重要问题。以儒学为代表的中国传统群己观历史上呈现出整体主义的价值取向。近代,在明清时期“公—私”观念转型和近代“意义危机”的内外因共同作用下,以严复、梁启超为代表的启蒙思想家,逐步发动了由“己”到“群”,从自我认识到群体认识的思想转型,为近代中国思想启蒙和走向现代化奠定了重要的思想基础。

The relationship between the group and the self is an important issue in the history of Chinese ethical thought.The traditional Chinese concept of group and self,which represented by Confucianism,has shown a value orientation of holism in history.In modern times,under the joint action of the internal and external causes of the“public private”concept transformation and the modern“meaning crisis”in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,enlightenment thinkers represented by Yan Fu and Liang Qichao gradually launched the ideological transformation from“self”to“group”,from self recognition to group recognition,which laid an important ideological foundation for the ideological enlightenment and modernization of modern China.
