Grid systems represent an important approach to plan the page information of one book,thus providing a collective layout for the book composition.By employing grid systems,one can play a vital role in unfolding the layers of books contents clearly,passing the contents to readers and creating a more comfortable reading experience.This paper is to discuss the application of grid systems to book design by using a case study of“From a character to a book:the composition of Chinese characters”.
