In order to explore the evolution process and the influencing factors of collaborative innovation in Guangdong,Hong Kong and Macao, some cities in Guangdong,Hong Kong and Macao were selected as the basic analysis unit.Based on the data from the State Intellectual Property Office during 2011—2020,the regional innovation network was constructed by using social network analysis method. The characteristics and influencing factors of regional innovation network were compared and analyzed. It is found that:the degree of collaborative innovation in Guangdong,Hong Kong and Macao is getting closer and closer, and all cities in the regions are included in the innovation network from 2011 to 2020 in the regional innovation network, there are obvious innovation core cities and fringe cities.Guangzhou,Shenzhen and Dongguan are the core of network up to now, while Shaoguan,Jieyang and Chaozhou are always in the fringe area of the network, and some cities have become more marginalized as time goes on;Hong Kong and Macao are the two core cities in this region, but their status and influence in the regional innovation network are not consistent with their economic strength. In the joint application of cooperative patents, they do not show strong cooperation and driving force, and there is great potential for improvement.
