Carrying forward the Spirit of China-Japan Peace and Friendship and Work⁃ing Together for a Bright Future

值此《日中和平友好条约》缔结45周年之际,谨向尊敬的天津社会科学院诸位学者长期以来以远见卓识和满腔热忱开展研究工作,并在《东北亚学刊》刊登优秀研究成果,表示由衷的敬意和感谢。《日中和平友好条约》的签订,不仅是众多可敬可佩的先辈们不畏艰难、努力拼搏的结果,也体现了两国人民始终不渝的和平友好的坚定信念。其中,令我印象最为深刻的是:在《日中和平友好条约》签订四年前的1974年12月,我万分荣幸地受到令人敬仰的周恩来总理的接见。

Ikeda Daisaku,Honorary President of the Soka Gakkai Society of Japan,extended cor‐dial greetings to the Tianjin Academy of Social Sciences and the Journal of Northeast Asia on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Japan-China Treaty of Peace and Friendship.Looking back at history,the signing of the treaty is not only the result of the great effort of many honorable ancestor but also reflects the firm conviction for peace of the two peoples.The Japan China friendship has a long history,with friendly exchanges between the two countries are not only conducive to the stability and prosperity of Asia,but also closely relate to world peace.In order to practice the friendship between the two countries,Ikeda has put in a lot of effort.He believes that peace and cooperation between the two countries will bring prosperity and development to both sides,and that the young people in China and Japan will remember the good-neighborly spirit em‐bodied in the Treaty and join hands to cross the golden bridge of peace and friendship.
