摘要
同治六年(1867)武昌书局版《胡文忠公遗集》,由先后继任湖北巡抚的郑敦谨、曾国荃负责发刻,而最早负责编纂胡氏遗集的是汪士铎。汪士铎在编纂之初,便得到了曾国藩的大力支持,但所编同治三年(1864)十卷本《胡文忠公遗集》却未得到曾国荃的认可。曾国荃主持刊刻的同治六年版《胡文忠公遗集》,让曾国藩对个人遗集的刊刻产生了极大的隐忧。曾国藩的刻书理念在于一个“精”字:内容之“精”与数量之“精”。由此来看,光绪二年(1876)传忠书局版《曾文正公全集》,让曾国藩的隐忧“一语成谶”。
In the sixth year of Tongzhi’s reign in the Qing Dynasty,the Wuchang Bookstore edition of Hu Wenzhong’s Collection was engraved under the supervision of Zheng Dunjin and Zeng Guoquan,the two former governors of Hubei.The first that was in charge of compiling Hu s collection was Wang Shiduo.He received great support from Zeng Guofan at the beginning of his compilation.However,Wang Shiduo s ten-volume The Collection of Hu Wenzhong was not accepted by Zeng Guoquan.Later,Zeng Guoquan presided over the engraving of Hu Wenzhong s Collection,which made Zeng Guofan deeply worried about the publication of personal collections.Zeng Guofan s idea of engraving lies in the word“refined”.Specifically,the content is refined to political papers,and the selected papers should be prioritized instead of simply being numbered.Considering this idea,the Chuanzhong Bookstore edition of Zeng Wenzheng’s Collection,published in the second year of Guangxu’s reign,proved Zeng Guofan’s bleak prophecy of the publication of personal collections.
