Analysis of Participatory Recordkeeping Continuum Model

It has been difficult for the archival community to define the various complex participation activities in a single word.Huvila called for"the establishment of models of different levels of participation in archival environments".On the basis of the Record Continuum Model,Australian scholar Gregory Rolan proposed the Participatory Recordkeeping Continuum Model,which describes the distance between participants and the participation activities represented by archival records and the complexity of participation.This paper verifies the success of this model in participatory record management through cases,and discusses the applicability and existing problems of this model.It holds that this model may not accept the participation of all types of subjects,and it is difficult to achieve the full dimension of in-depth participation expected by all participants,and the mechanical model lacks consideration of the needs of participants.
