Lawrinenko et al.(2023)published a review paper on mechanistic aspects regarding the operation mode of subsurface permeable reactive barriers(PRBs)containing metallic iron(Fe0)for groundwater remediation.The article aimed at discussing the primary mechanisms of Fe0 oxidative dissolution and subsequent transformations determining the efficiency of Fe0 PRBs.
