翻译距离视域下的《论语》英译对比研究

心理学上的“心理距离”由瑞士心理学家布洛首次提出。现代翻译理论学者由此提出了“翻译距离”,试图从此角度解决包括不可译在内的诸多翻译难题。翻译活动的目的在于拉近译入语读者和原文的心理距离,翻译距离也随着不同年代语言环境和译者翻译策略的改变忽远忽近。文章以不同年代译者的论语英译为例,对比不同译本的文本距离与历史距离。

Swiss psychologist Bullough first proposed the notion of"psychological distance".Modern scholars of translation theory have thus proposed the theory of"translation distance",trying to solve many translation problems,including untranslatability,etc.The purpose of translation activities is to narrow the psychological distance between readers of the translated language and the original text,and the translation distance also changes with the language environment and translation strategies of translators in different eras.This paper takes the English translations of Analects by translators of different generations as an example to compare the textual distance and historic distance of different translations.
