This paper provides a comprehensive evaluation of transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy via vestibular approach,briefly introduces the development of endoscopic thyroid surgery.Transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy via vestibular approach has the advantages of no scar on the surface of the body,short diameter,access to handle bilateral lesions,and good exposure of lymph nodes in the central region.This paper introduces the indications and contraindications for this surgical procedure.The specific complications related to transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy via vestibular approach and the complications related to thyroid surgery are described.The learning curve for a surgeon to learn this surgical procedure,the experiences in learning this surgical procedure,and the suggestions for novice surgeons are also discussed.
