Aiming at the main characteristics of pure car carrier’s principal dimensions,the restrictions of automobile ro-ro terminals and channels in Japan were analyzed,as well as the Panama Canal Locks.The historical evolution and development trend of ship principal dimensions such as overall length,breadth and aspect ratio were studied from the perspective of time series.The parameters affecting the performance of the pure car carrier,such as stability and speed performance were summarized.The development direction of the principal dimension of pure car carriers was put forward based on the development trend of the industry and the market.
