Research on Intelligent License Plate Recognition Based on OpenCV

摘要 车牌识别在高速收费口、小区车辆出入口、停车场自动收费系统等方面得到越来越广泛的应用,可一定程度减少交通道路拥挤,缓解交通压力。该文基于树莓派为主控平台,采用高清摄像头模块采集图像,应用OpenCV库相关功能完成车牌定位及字符分割,实现了精准提取车牌信息及颜色识别,并存入数据库中,最后将识别到的车牌号显示在屏幕的GUI界面。实验表明,车牌识别准确率达98%,识别效果较好,值得推广。 License plate recognition has been more and more widely used in highspeed toll gates,community vehicle entrances and exits,automatic toll collection system for parking lot,etc.It can reduce traffic congestion and relieve traffic pressure to a certain extent.This paper is based on the Raspberry Pi as the main control platform,and uses a highdefinition camera module to collect images,use OpenCV library related functions to complete license plate positioning and character segmentation,realised accurately extract license plate information and color recognition and save the data into the database.Finally,the recognized license plate number is displayed on the GUI interface of the screen.Experiments show that the accuracy rate of license plate recognition is 98%,the recognition effect is good and it is worth promoting.
