The Generation of Christian Fuchs’Critical Theory of Communication-Based on A Perspective of Intellectual History

克里斯蒂安·福克斯作为当代英国著名的批判传播学者,由西方马克思主义的学术传统出发研究数字化时代的人类交往,从而系统提出了“交往批判理论”。基于此,本文旨在探究福克斯“交往批判理论”形成的基本脉络,主要通过思想史的路径考察福克斯同马克思恩格斯、法兰克福学派诸学者和达拉斯·斯麦兹等思想家的学术对话与观点论争。最终发现,从唯物史观和劳动价值论到批判理论,再到受众商品论,都经由福克斯的批判理解和数字结合,构成了其“交往批判理论”建构的历史基础。

As a leading contemporary British scholar of critical communication,Christian Fuchs has long devoted himself to the study of human communication in the digital age from the perspective of the academic tradition of Western Marxism,thus systematically proposing the critical theory of communication.Based on this,the paper aims to explore the basic clues of the for⁃mation of Fuchs’critical theory of communication,mainly by researching Fuchs’academic dialogues and debates with thinkers such as Marx and Engels,scholars of the Frankfurt School and Dallas W.Smythe through the method of intellectual history.In conclusion,it finds that from historical materialism and the labor theory of value to critical theory and audience commodity,all of them have been critically interpreted and digitally combined by Fuchs,forming the historical foundation of his critical theory of communication.
