The Inferior Vena Cava Collapsibility Index(IVCCI)is a method to assess the circulatory status and fluid responsiveness of patients by echocardiography. The inferior vena cava is the main blood vessel that returns blood from the lower body to the heart.Changes in its diameter can reflect the patient’s circulatory load and blood volume status. As a non-invasive and real-time evaluation method, the inferior vena cava collapsibility index has high clinical application value during general anesthesia. This paper mainly reviews the clinical application and limitations of the inferior vena cava collapse index during general anesthesia.
