摘要
爱伦·坡的短篇小说《椭圆形画像》主题众多,其中有一个鲜明的伦理维度的主题,是小说通过对艺术与生命主题的表达而揭示出来的。小说《椭圆形画像》的伦理维度包括叙事伦理、人物多重的伦理身份以及艺术与生命的对立冲突所带来的伦理反思这三个层次。从中外有关叙事伦理、文学伦理学批评等的理论出发,对小说《椭圆形画像》在伦理维度当中的表征、困境以及反思进行阐释,从而使作者、小说叙述者、读者以及批评家之间达成共鸣,对艺术之“美”以及伦理之“恶”进行合理化的伦理反思与道德批判。
The Edgar Allan Poe’s short story The Oval Portrait,with numerous themes and a distinct ethical dimension,is revealed by the novel through its expression of the themes of art and life.The ethical dimensions of the novel The Oval Portrait include three levels:narrative ethics,the multiple ethical identities of the characters,and the ethical reflection brought about by the opposing conflict between art and life.From the Chinese and foreign narrative ethics,literature ethics criticism theory,this paper interpretate the novel The Oval Portrait in the ethical dimension of representation,dilemma and reflection,so that the author,novel narrator,readers and critics reached a general consensus,the art“beauty”and ethical“evil”was reflected rationally and criticized morally as well.
