模糊限制语具有多义性和多重语用价值。在不同的概念域中,模糊限制语分别具有客观描述功能、认识情态功能和施为功能。情态助词must多功能性的认知分析表明,其语义功能在不同的概念域中发生了隐喻扩展。概念域视域下的模糊限制语研究为其语义功能分析提供了一个新的视角,系统地概括了模糊限制语的多功能性,揭示了不同语义功能之间的内在联系,同时对模糊限制语的教学实践也有一定的现实指导意义。

Hedges are polysemous and polypragmatic.In different conceptual domains,hedges can express objective,epistemic and performative meanings respectively.A cognitive analysis of the multifunctionality of the modal auxiliarymustindicates that its semantic functions are metaphorically extended across different conceptual domains.Within the framework of conceptual domains,a new perspective has been provided for the study of semantic functions of hedges,yielding a systematic generalization of their multifunctionality.Furthermore,it reveals the internal relationships between the different semantic functions and has some practical implications for the teaching of hedges.
