功能对等视角下的中国电影片名及字幕翻译研究——以影片《芳华》为例

Chinese Film Title and Subtitle Translation from the Perspective of Functional Equivalence——Taking Youth as an Example

从古至今,我国经常通过文化交流的形式来取长补短,传播本族文化,吸纳外族文化,在此过程中,让本族文化得到充分的发展与延伸。一直以来,教育、商业贸易、人口迁徙等都是文化交流与文化传播的重要途径。随着经济全球化的不断发展,电影逐步成为文化交流与传播的崭新媒介,让观众可以透过荧幕,在短时间内看到不同文化之间的撞击,领略五彩斑斓的世界万象。如何选取适当的翻译策略对电影片名及影片字幕进行翻译,拉近源语影片与目的语观众的距离,成为摆在译者面前最严峻的挑战。该文以功能对等理论为研究基础,以电影《芳华》为依托,从电影片名翻译、电影字幕翻译两方面对翻译策略进行分析。

From ancient times to the present,our country has often learned from each other's strengths and weaknesses through cultural exchange,spreading our own culture,and absorbing foreign cultures.In this process,our own culture has been fully developed and extended.For a long time,education,business trade,human migration,etc.have been important ways of cultural exchange and dissemination.With the continuous development of economic globalization,films have gradually become a new medium for cultural exchange and dissemination,allowing audiences to see the impact of different cultures in a short period of time through the screen and appreciate the colorful world.How to choose appropriate translation strategies for film titles and subtitles,and narrow the distance between the source language film and the target language audience,has become the most severe challenge facing translators.This article is based on the theory of functional equivalence and relies on the film Youth to analyze translation strategies from two aspects:film title translation and film subtitle translation.
