中美军事类新闻报道中的态度资源对比研究——以美核潜艇南海碰撞事故报道为例

A Contrastive Study of Attitude Resources in Chinese and American Military News Reports—A Case Study of the USS Connecticut Collision in the South China Sea

本研究以中美主流媒体对2021年美核潜艇“康涅狄格”号在南海发生碰撞事故的相关报道为语料,运用评价理论子系统态度资源剖析不同立场媒体就同一事件报道所体现的态度资源异同及其动因。研究结果表明:两者态度资源总数相似且都避免使用过多的情感资源。中方倾向于使用裁决资源评价美方行为,而美方则使用更多的鉴赏资源向受众展示其军事实力。中美双方态度资源使用的差异体现了新闻话语“客观性”背后隐藏的不同政治立场和意识形态。

Based on China’s and America’s mainstream media reports on USS Connecticut collision in the South China Sea,this paper makes a contrastive study of the attitude resources from the two media’s reports to figure out similarities and differences in their use of attitude resources and the reasons behind.The study finds that the total number of attitude resources of the two media is almost the same,and both sides avoid using too many affect resources.Chinese media tend to use judgment resources to evaluate America’s behavior,while American media use more appreciation resources to boast its military power.The different use of attitude resources between Chinese and American media is a reflection of political and ideological differences behind the“objectivity”of news discourse.
