Delayed initiation of insulin therapy and poor adherence after initiation are important reasons for unsatisfied glycemic control in diabetic patients.Reducing the number of injections is an effective way to improve treatment adherence.The development of weekly insulin preparation can provide support for this strategy.This paper will review the research and development achievements of the weekly Icodec insulin preparation from the aspects of mechanism of action,pharmacology and clinical studies,especially phaseⅢclinical study of insulin Icode.
