Gaze of “Light”: The Aesthetic Order and Power Calling Mechanism of Paintings

光既是单纯的物理性光线,同时也被指认成神性之表征。神圣之光的美学思想很大程度上形塑和陶染着观者的认知,导致观者在知觉绘画氛围时,不自觉地把光纳入神性的审美框架,由此生发上帝降临的幻相。嗣后,光被发展成诱导性的表征符号。由此可见,光神圣性美学思想的置入实际上记载着中世纪以来的审美秩序,同时,也隐含宗教的权力召唤机制。

Light is not only a pure physical light,but also a token of divinity.The aesthetic thought of divine light can shape and aff ect,to a large extent,the perception of the viewer,which makes the viewer unconsciously incorporate the light into the divine aesthetic framework when perceiving the painting atmosphere,and thus generate the illusion of God’s coming.Later,light gets developed into an inductive symbol.It can be seen that the insertion of the aesthetic thought of the divine light actually records the aesthetic order since the Middle Ages,and at the same time,it implies the power calling mechanism of religion.
