中医术语的中医文化内涵及其英译研究

A Study on the Cultural Connotation and English Translation of TCM Terms

中医药作为中国原创的知识体系,是中华传统文化的精髓。它成功地将中华传统文化中的哲学概念融入临床实践中,形成一套具有完整而独立的中医理论体系,并在几千年的发展中一以贯之。因此中医理论除了具有医学与科学的属性,还具有显著的文化属性。中医药对外普及和传播的主要因素和挑战是语言和文化。中医理论植根于中国古代哲学思想,所产生的理论和语境与西方医学系统截然不同,由此容易产生语言以及文化的相通性问题。因此中医文化英译的本质是中西方文化之间的交流,在翻译的过程中,译者只有正确理解中医术语背后蕴含的中医文化内涵,才有可能避免因文化认知缺失对英译造成的影响。该文围绕中医基本名词术语所蕴含的文化内涵,尝试从文化的角度探讨中医英语翻译的策略及方法。

As the original knowledge system of China,traditional Chinese medicine is the essence of traditional Chinese culture.It is based on clinical practice and integrates natural,social,biological and psychological knowledge and theories,thus forming the theoretical system of TCM.It not only has medical and scientific attributes,but also has cultural attributes.The essence of TCM translation into English is the communication between Chinese and Western cultures.In the process of translation,only by correctly understanding the cultural connotation of TCM behind the terms of TCM,can the translator avoid the impact of lack of cultural cognition on English translation.This paper focus on the cultural connotations of TCM basic terms and try to explore the strategies and methods of TCM English translation from a cultural perspective.
