As a classic book on the history of modern architecture,Sigfried Giedion’s Space,Time and Architecture:the growth of a new tradition played an operative role in promoting the Modern movement.It played a very important role in helping us understand modern architecture and provided a theoretical basis of modern architecture,even though first edition of this book was published in 1941.This paper will discuss Giedion’s historiography of Modern Architecture by studying the first edition of Space,Time and Architecture.
