常用中医汗出症状术语英译研究

Study on English translations of common terms related to sweating symptoms in traditional Chinese medicine

文章以汗出症状术语提取、内涵研究、西医汗出术语对比研究为前期基础,以文献研究结合专家访谈为方法,提取10本行业标准规范、词典或教材相关术语英译,并主要以奈达功能对等理论为指导,进行中医汗出症状术语英译对比研究,探讨了18条常用汗出症状术语的英译思路并提出推荐英译版本。中医症状术语英译的准确性应以术语规范和内涵准确为基础,借鉴西医相关术语进行中医症状术语英译时应严谨对比中、西医术语的内涵,可灵活运用恰当的翻译理论和方法进行英译研究。

In the initial stage of this study,we collected terms related to sweating symptoms in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),discussed their definitions,and compared them with related Western medical terms.Then,through literature studies and interviews with professionals,we extracted the English translation versions of the sweating-related symptoms from 10 standards,dictionaries and textbooks,and conducted a comparative study of the translation versions of 18 commonly seen sweating-related TCM symptoms under the guidance of Nida’s functional equivalence theory.The English translation of TCM sweating-related symptom terms should be based on the standard and accurate connotation of the Chinese terms.When Western medical English terms could be considered as a suitable translation version only when the definitions of TCM and Western medical terms match up accurately.And a variety of translation theories or methods could be used flexibly in relevant studies.
