“三化论”在许渊冲《诗经》英译本中的体现

The Embodiment of Three Methods of Transmission in Xu Yuanchong’s English Translation of The Book of Songs

本文以许渊冲英译的《诗经》为研究对象,用“三化论”来剖析许渊冲译作中“浅化”“等化”及“深化”的具体运用,探究该方法论在诗歌翻译乃至文学翻译中的可操作性,通过分析许渊冲《诗经》英译本发现,“三化论”作为我国文学翻译的重要理论对诗词曲赋的翻译极其适合,使诗文意境的表达更加丰满优美,《诗经》的精髓得以展现给读者,在中英诗词翻译领域中具有深远的影响。

In this paper,taking Xu Yuanchong’s English Translation of The Book of Songs as the study object,the specific application of“Simplification”,“Equalization”and“Deepening”in Xu Yuanchong’s translation was analyzed with the“Three Methods of Transmission”,and the operability of this methodology in poetry translation and even literary translation was explored.Through the analysis of the Xu Yuanchong’s English Translation of The Book of Songs,it was found that as an important theory of Chinese literary translation,the“Three Methods of Transmission”is extremely suitable for the translation of verses,ditties,odes and songs,which can make the expression of the artistic conception of poetry more full and beautiful.Therefore,the essence of The Book of Songs can be interpreted to the reader and has a far-reaching impact in the field of Chinese-English poetry translation.
